Each year the municipality of Maio through its socio-cultural and sporting services organizes the summer festivals with in particular on the program: football and Beach volleyball to be found in the afternoon on the beach of Bichi Rocha, the election of miss Maio, the election of the best singer on the island that you can follow at the Polyvalente.
These festivities end each year with the Bichi Rocha music festival from September 7 to 9 where you can listen to the best musicians and groups from Cape Verde every night such as Tibau TAvares, Ferro Gaita, Tcheka, Tito Paris, Elida…. in a warm and dancing atmosphere accompanied by kebabs and grog sold in small barracks installed for the occasion.
